Managing Chronic Health Conditions in Afterschool and Summer Programs
Did you know approximately 25% of kids in Alaska have a chronic health condition, such as asthma or life threatening allergies? Youth need support managing these health conditions during out-of-school time to ensure they are able to fully participate in programming.
Join us on April 19, 12-1 pm for a FREE webinar on Managing Chronic Health Conditions in Afterschool and Summer Programs with State of Alaska School Health Nurse Consultant Barbara Pennington.
You will learn about the five most common childhood chronic health conditions and why it is important to support students in managing their health. Discussion will focus on two of the most common student health conditions, asthma and life threatening allergies, and what medications they may have in your setting. What common parent release forms are needed to collect medical information on your students? What policies will you need to have in place to store and administer medication for these students? We will also provide FREE health resources and signing programs up for FREE post-webinar technical assistance on managing health conditions at program.
