Welcome, AmeriCorps STEM Coaches
We are thrilled to be welcome new and returning AmeriCorps STEM coaches to four programs across the state. AmeriCorps STEM Coaches are federal volunteers who have signed up for a term of service to engage students in hands-on, minds on STEM learning in afterschool programs.
Three full-time AmeriCorps STEM Coaches are serving a 1,700 hour term of service over the next 11-months.
Tamika Lake, Nenana City School District 21st Century Community Learning Center, is returning for her second term of service. She is originally from Hooper Bay, but has been living in Nenana for five years and is currently taking classes at University of Alaska Fairbanks.
Nash Murath, Kinder Skog, is passionate about getting kids outdoors and is an avid hiker. He relocated to Petersburg from Colorado.
Christian Young-Valdovinos, Fairbanks Boys & Girls Club, is working on his PhD in Sustainable Education from Prescott College. He relocated to Fairbanks from Oregon.
One abbreviated-time AmeriCorps STEM Coach is serving a 100 hour term of service over the next 10-weeks.
Kenzie Long, Anchorage School District Mt. View Elementary 21st Century Community Learning Center, is returning for her third term of service. She lives in Anchorage and is a freshman at University of Alaska Fairbanks.
