The Youth Program Quality Initiative supports afterschool programs in continuous quality improvement through the steps Assess, Plan, and Improve. It involves program observations and assessment, data analysis, goal setting, and professional development. During the 2021-22 school year, the Initiative’s pilot year, Alaska Afterschool Network engaged 7 sites at 6 organizations. All sites were grantees of the Positive Youth Development Afterschool Program (PYDAP) fund. The initiative is on track to quadruple in size in the 2022-23 school year.
